Grassroots Leadership has joined with allies at the state, local, national and international level to call for an end to all incarceration for profit. In 2005, we launched Keeping Faith: A Religious Response to the Prison Crisis. Sign our petition calling upon people of faith to state their opposition to prison privatization in Florida.
• Help develop an expanded role for the faith community nationally and internationally around prison and criminal justice issues, so that passionate faith-based voices are heard loudly and clearly in opposition to the injustice present in our current systems.
• Organize and educate within the faith community so that people and communities of faith become energized and activated through their participation in the campaign to abolish for-profit private prisons.
• Deepen and broaden the critique of for-profit private prisons from multiple faith perspectives, so that our work is spiritually and theologically rooted and sustained.
